It has a faux wrap or surplice bodice that forms a face-framing, neck-elongating deep V neckline. The sleeves are sheer, with tiny buttons that fasten at the wrists, and there are small pads at the shoulders. It has a long silk satin sash that encircles the nipped waist, which is accented by the full layered asymmetric skirt (think Stevie Nicks). The sash is attached on one side, wraps around the waist, and through a thread belt loop attached to the sash, which is curved and wide in the front, narrower on the sides.
The skirt is fabulous! There's a flirty full underskirt and over that, attached at the waist are many large chiffon squares, attached at their corners and sewn into the waist seam.
Luis Estevez is one of my favorite vintage designers. He has the distinction of being the youngest designer to win the coveted Coty award (think Academy Award for fashion). His work is very sought after, and it's easy to see why.

The Condition: Excellent, beautifully preserved. The only flaw is very minor - two small dark spots on the sash near one another. I tried getting out myself and couldn't, but it's entirely likely a dry cleaner will have more tricks up his/her sleeve than I do and be able to remove them. At worst, if not, it's minor and can be easily dealt with. You could detach the sash (just attached with a few stitches), flip it over and reattach, or tie the sash slightly off-center to the right so it's hidden (which probably would look better than dead center, now that I think of it). Doesn't detract a whit from its fabulosity.
