It's an eight page accordion folded B&W Xerox pamphlet with tiny tiny text. Lots of it. Each page is 2.75" by 8.5". It has sections: the First Things, Planning a Soft Route, Who To Send, How Many to Send, When, First Come First Serve, A Word on Venues, Money, A Note on Pay What You Can, Other Things to Do and Not Do, A Note on Your Van, Playing the Shows, A Short Economics Lesson on Being a Touring Band, and A Conclusion.
It's simple to read. It might help. And the Famines (www.thefamines.ca) are a band that has toured Canada front-to-back four times in the last two years, in addition to too many Western Canadian tours that add up to 125 shows. The pamphlet is written and designed by the band's singer/guitarist/DIY booking agent (ie. Raymond Biesinger) and sums up much of the Famines tour booking procedure. Released 1 Dec. 2010, a few grammar errors fixed in a May 2011 second edition.
