I crocheted this one of a kind (OOAK) rug with yarn I hand-cut from salvaged fabric. I collected a blue knit fabric remnant and navy blue t shirts from thrift stores, washed them, and cut them up into strips that I used to crochet this rug. Using fabric yarn creates a rug that is thick and soft yet very very durable.
The narwhal applique was made by the incredibly talented Jessica Wynne Plymate of aorta. I hand-stitched around the entire lion to make sure it is securely attached to the rug. You can see aorta's work in her store here on etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/aorta and on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/aorta/
This rug is machine washable and dryable. It measures 24 inches (61 cm) in diameter. Perfect for the bathroom, kitchen, office, living room, bedroom, playroom, nursery, dorm room, or any other room that needs a nice rug or mat.
Additionally, dogs and cats love to sit on these rugs! This rug would make a great pet mat to put on the sofa, a table, or your pet's favorite place to hang out.
The last picture shows the back side of the rug.
