It is made of celluloid with is an early form of plastic and it is teal or mint green with yellow, pink blue decor. It has a pretty lady and lilies on the top; embossed daisies and scrolling; the edge of the lid and the bottom of the box is also embossed ribbon and scroll motif. The front of the collar box also has yellow and blue pansies.
This listing is for the 1900s collar box and includes 2 Victorian collars and one set of cuffs.
The clasp and the hinges are secure and function well. The inside of the box is lined in green satin and in good condition.
The celluloid is in great antique condition; the only slight chip is on the back darker green reinforced strip of celluloid (about 1/8”).
The front right corner looks like it has a small water stain.
It measures 7 1/2:” x 8” in front of lid x 5 ¼” in the back of lid x 5 ¾” tall. It is an exquisite display piece and miraculous how it has survived all these years. Item will ship USPS with delivery confirmation and insurance.
