When I was little, I remember sitting on my grandparents' stairs and trying a new flavor of homemade ice cream- chocolate with just a hint of cinnamon. The unique flavor combination is imprinted vividly in my mind, and it makes my mouth water just to think about delicious it was! I developed this recipe to recreate the flavor I remember, but as hot cocoa instead of ice cream, and my husband and 3 year old daughter just love it!
Homemade hot cocoa is so much more special than tearing open a pouch and just adding water. But that doesn't mean it has to be time consuming or difficult! This recipe is very easy and very delicious. This type of hot cocoa is easy to whip up a lovely froth on - my second photo shows the hot cocoa with a froth, and the first is without.
