This rustic, sturdy, little table is truly the only one of its kind! Constructed out of tongue-and-groove cedar salvaged from an antique chest used by the Ohio Penitentiary long ago, it contains 3 drawers that are wooden 7Up crates from the 1950's. (See the third picture.)
Each 7Up crate is divided into 4 sections and is wonderful for all kinds of storage. The "Fresh Up" graphics and typography on the crates give it a wonderful vintage flair, and the entire piece has the beautiful patina that only time can give. To ensure the drawers slide smoothly, 4 small plastic glides have been applied to the bottom corner of each one.
The top of the table is constructed out of a weathered 2 X 6 and has a slight overhang on all 4 sides.
The last picture shows the Ohio Penitentiary crate before it was disassembled. The back of the end table comes from an antique cedar cabinet that my grandfather built.
This unique piece measures 24" high x 25" deep x 17" wide.
