These glass beads are from the late 1800s to early 1900s, and are in very good shape. The larger red ones are known as skunk beads, and the smaller ones are chevrons. They are all Venetian beads, and were traded in Africa. They are highly collectible as a beautiful, wearable part of history. The strand is about 18 inches long, with a sterling silver lobster claw clasp.
