I know it's a little late to list a Christmas item but I made one of these for my mom and got so many raves about it that I decided to make a couple up for next year while the materials are available and hey! I've started my list for next year! Maybe some of you have too! I like to spread the expense of Christmas out over the year. So..... Here you are! This festive walker pocket is made from a quality striped place mat that I've stitched up the sides of, added ribbon ties to and the felt word "Joy" and the most adorable Christmas doll. Mom loved the smiles and compliments she received. A week before Christmas she asked if I could make about four more for friends of hers in the assisted living facility she lives in and I had to explain that between getting our her cards, our house, the lake house, and my classroom ready and preparing for the kids to come home from Montana and the cities, I was already burning quite a bit of midnight oil.
My mom is at the time of her life when she really needs very little, doesn't have a lot of space and is incredibly hard to buy something for so I've promised her an unending supply of seasonal pockets and she was so pleased. So, as I make them for mom I'll be adding them to this site as well!
Mom kept her tissue, lip stick, wallet and mail in hers but an alternative use could be as an adorable Christmas Card holder that could be tied to some chair backs...
The pocket measures 9.5 inches tall and 13 inches wide. A beige ribbon stitched with MERRY CHRISTMAS runs along the top edge.
