Jasmine Becket-Griffith. (Aka Strangeling or mis-spelled as Jasmine Beckett-Griffith). Is 30 years old and lives in beautiful Celebration, Florida with her husband/assistant Matt. She is a full-time artist who makes her living selling her artwork. She has been selling her original Fairy, Gothic, and Fantasy artwork online since 1997. All of her paintings are original acrylics on wood or canvas, painted the old fashioned way - by hand.
Jasmine grows weary of the mundane world, and is trying to slowly create her own through her fantasy artwork. She believes that with each piece of art she gets out of her system, onto paper, and into your home she has done her part to make this place a more magical planet.
You may know her work from countless books and lines of merchandise, especially through the Bradford Exchange, Disney, The Hamilton Collection, stores like Hot Topic, Torrid, Target, SuperTarget, dolls through Ashton-Drake, etc. as well as her website www.strangeling.com ! Her work can be found in collections and galleries throughout the world, and is featured in various books - "The Art of Faery" & "The World of Faery," "Big Eye Art: Resurrected and Transformed," "Gothic Art Now," "The Fantasy Art Bible," "Spectrum" number 11, 13, 15 and 17, and others. Also be sure to check out her solo art books "Fairy: the Art of Jasmine Becket-Griffith," "Jasmine Becket-Griffith: Portfolio Volume I," "Jasmine Becket-Griffith: Portfolio Volume II" and her new oracle/tarot deck "Oracle of Shadows and Light" now available.
When she is not painting, Jasmine is reading, spending time with my family, petting her cats (Mama Wolf and Tigrillo), playing outdoors, listening to music, or traveling. She enjoys traveling all over the world, whether it be for art shows & conventions or just for fun and exploration! She loves the ocean and spends a lot of time island hopping in the Caribbean, playing pirate. Jasmine also loves visiting museums and historic sites throughout Europe. A lot of her travels end up as being sources of inspiration for her paintings!
Jasmine has a very active Facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jasmine-Becket-Griffith/47932244366 where she posts throughout the day - works-in-progress, new projects, chatting with fans, and general art talk.
