this Lampwork focal bead is made with a glass called Raku. It reacts with the glass used for it's base, and then I adjust the oxygen and propane in my torch, and cross my eyes, hold my breath and hope for the elusive purples and blues that can appear.
The 'raku' glass is because of it's similarity to raku in pottery, but I also think that the process is a bit similar too.
The bead is 3.5 cm tall and 2.5 cm wide at it's widest point. It is 1 cm thick with a hole running horizontally that is large enough to accommodate 14 g silver or a piece of leather (for an instant necklace!)
kiln annealed for durability and guaranteed for workmanship.
