It has a sexy low cut v-neck, accented by wide scalloped floral lace appliqués; a less low cut v-neck on the back, accented by a thin band of scalloped lace; and matching band of thin scalloped lace around the circumference of the hem. There's also a line of elastic running along the ribcage on the back and sides, as well as two appropriately placed string ties, for a customized empire waisted fit.
Part of the fun of dyeing anything is the surprise of how things turn out. (Like snowflakes - or people - no two are ever exactly alike.) This slip dyed up a grape-y purple shade with the exception of some of the reinforcement thread around the lace at the neck and where the ties insert at the bust, which remained white.
It's not a true solid, meaning it has a number of darker and lighter spots sprinkled about, which is just the nature of the process.

Made by Vanity Fair
100% nylon (exclusive of trim)
Machine wash cold, delicate cycle; tumble dry low.
bust: 34" (measured with the strings tied snugly; 35" measured with the strings untied)
length: 54"
[Measurements are taken flat, then doubled - except for the length; for best fit, compare the measurements to a similar piece in your closet.]
It's marked a size 36. In terms of this type of lingerie I usually base fit on a woman's bra size. I wear a size 36 bra and this fits me; I'd say it's best for a 36" bust but could certainly accommodate someone with a 34" or 38" bust, depending on the fit you're looking for.

In great vintage condition. This will arrive washed and ready to wear.
(PS: In case you're wondering about any "side effects" from wearing a hand-dyed slip around the house, or anywhere else - the pieces go through two fairly rigorous washings during the process which helps set the dye. To date I have never had any problems with bleeding or color transfer and I have two chairs covered in white fabric in my living room.)
