This vase is part of my “Collective Conscious” series. It speaks about the fragile nature of our relationships to each other, as mothers, daughters, sisters etc. and as humans, our fragile relationship to the earth. Though it looks very delicate and has a delicate feel, it is actually very sturdy and created to easily withstand shipping. I pick them up by their rim to move them around.
This vase is 10.5” tall X 6” wide and weighs 3 pounds. The lower half can be filled with water and live plants or a glass cylinder can be inserted for another effect. The clay is twice fired with a shiny to satin oriental green glaze, and golden tones are added to highlight the carved area. The four female figures are in a yoga pose, sometimes known as the half-moon. The two moons are crescent shaped and the carved through design is finished with two large hearts, connecting the figures securely together.
I have used a variety of light sources to most accurately represent the colors of the glazes, however, colors may appear slightly different on each monitor and in your home lighting. Please email me with any questions or for more photo’s.
