It has a slim sexy shape, thin adjustable straps, thin bands of dainty ric-rac style trim accenting the bust back and hem and 14" slit on the left side seam.
Part of the fun of dyeing anything is the surprise of how things turn out. (Like snowflakes - or people - no two are ever exactly alike.) This slip dyed up a warm wine-y shade with the except for the bust panels, which took on a lighter pinkish tint.
It's not a true solid, meaning it has a number of darker and lighter spots sprinkled about, which is just the nature of the process.

Made by Vanity Fair
100% nylon (exclusive of trim)
Machine wash cold, delicate cycle; tumble dry low.
bust: 34"
length: 52" (with straps fully extended)
[Measurements are taken flat, then doubled - except for the length; for best fit, compare the measurements to a similar piece in your closet.]
It's marked a size 36. In terms of this type of lingerie I usually base fit on a woman's bra size. I wear a size 36 bra and is just a bit snug on me; I'd say it's best for a 34" bust. Slips like these are somewhat forgiving though and can still look fabulous worn a little loose or a little tight - it really depends on how you plan to style and wear it.

In great vintage condition. This will arrive washed and ready to wear.
(PS: In case you're wondering about any "side effects" from wearing a hand-dyed slip around the house, or anywhere else - the pieces go through two fairly rigorous washings during the process which helps set the dye. To date I have never had any problems with bleeding or color transfer and I have two chairs covered in white fabric in my living room.)
