Mr. Indiana cringes at the term “pop artist”; he refers to himself as a “hard-edged artist”. When he was a child, his father worked for Phillips 66 Corporation, whose logo and signs were red and green. Viewing the signage against the bright blue Indiana sky, he found the perfect color combination for his famous work: Red and green against blue.
Inspired to the point of shamelessly stealing from Mr. Indiana’s iconic design, I offer my version in alternative colors. Hand painted one at a time on commercial indoor-outdoor fabric using permanent, nontoxic textile paints, this pillow measures 20"x20"x5" thick. The washable polyester fiberfill insert is removable through the envelope closure on the reverse. Cover may be spot cleaned, gently washed or even hosed off. Enjoy indoors or out. Custom color combinations are do-able.
Designed, painted, sewn, stuffed, signed and copyrighted on a lovely little island in Washington State, where love is in the air and on lots of envelopes.
