An old college library art history book becomes the ground for art itself. A niche cut into the book block is a culvert for painting and assemblage. While the painting maintains some of the book's details--a ghost of an image on the page beneath comes through some color, whispers of text emerge--a small female figure wrapped in threads, string and bits of the book's text, is integrated as part of the book, emerging from it. Paint, graphite, ink, wire and beeswax have also been employed. Hangs flush on the wall or can stand upright in a bookshelf tableau.
