These lamps cast a soft, filtered light that's great for conversation, dining, listening to music, meditation, or even watching television. The shadows they cast are spectacular whether they're hung in the corner of a room, as shown here, or in in the center.
Another use would be in a child's bedroom. Use a 40-watt bulb and connect the lamp to a timer. Your little one can fall asleep under sky of stars!
A canopy fitting made from a nice old saucepan lid is included, as well as a connector, so the lamp can be installed as a ceiling fixture, wired to the house electrics. (Be sure to consult a qualified electrician.) But it has a very long cord with a plug, so if you want to hang it less permanently (using a hook, as I've done in the photographs) you can. I can even add a line switch if you tell me where you want it. Just contact me when purchasing ($5 additional for the switch).
This lamp measures about 11-12 inches in diameter at its widest point. Comes with 60 watt silver top bulb. Drop from ceiling is adjustable; if you have very high ceilings, you might need to add additional ball chain (available at most hardware stores). If you let me know the length of drop you need when you buy, I can make the chains longer or shorter for you. (If I need to add chain, a small materials fee will apply.)
