The pages are securely glued together, and then the inside is precision carved. No two books are alike!
The inside pages are not lined in any way. In fact, I always maintain as much as the original book as a I can - the bottom page is the original text and page.
In addition to keeping the look of a vintage book in tact, I also make sure to "ethically source" all of my books - meaning I never use new, rare, or valuable books to create book safes. I only use books that are at the end of their lifespan for one reason or anther - whether it be from age, staining or wear, or just a bad copy. I like to think I give these books a new life as an adorable book safe.
