Framed in a small size hoop, this little embroidered artwork is made from a mix of vintage and new fabric.
The 'olden days' kettle is appliqued and freehand machine embroidered onto blue floral vintage fabric. Its body is made from heavy cotton printed in the heart of the Welsh countryside.
The words 'prends le temps' ('take your time') are embroidered below the kettle.
The embroidery is done using a basic sewing machine fitted with a freehand embroidery foot. I cut the fabric to be appliqued and draw freehand straight onto the fabric using black thread.
This piece is mounted on a small 6"/16cm embroidery hoop (made in Britain).
The last photo is to help you get an idea of the size of this hoop.
Ready to hang.
Each hoop is unique due to the nature of freehand machine embroidery, which I think adds to the charm. There will be slight variations from the photos shown.
