I wonder how many times this book crossed the ocean to Turkey and back! It certainly appears well travelled. Now this old unwanted book has been made into a new ecofriendly blank journal! Part of my Rebound Journal series, the covers are from a vintage language training book, “Essentials of Modern Turkish” (1959), by Herman H. Kreider.

Cover endpapers are a coordinating decorative paper with a Mediterranean feel. Bound with waxed linen thread using a double needle coptic binding, resulting in a lovely chain stitch on the spine. This allows the book to lie perfectly flat when open. The inside is filled with approximately 168 pages (counting both sides) of reclaimed printer's layout paper. There are light blue lines on one side of each page, and the other side is blank. Each section of pages is half wrapped with a map from the region.

This journal measures 24 x 15 cm (9.25 x 6”).
