The Antique "Fiorato" beads are hand-produced in the exact manner in which they were first made during the Italian Renaissance in Venice. A Venetian glass artisan makes each bead by hand and then skillfully decorates it with six layers of hand applique glass; three layers of "Adventurina" (gold and copper dust embedded in glass) and three further layers of delicate colored glass roses and flowers.
The copetta or end caps on the smaller beads at the closure do not sit tight against the bead ~ other than that in good condition, as I recall it was restrung/reset a while back...belonged to my grandmother ..from the late twenties..
