Wide open spaces for imagination (and beavers!) to roam.
This playscape represents many, many hours of needlefelting to bring to life a natural environment in which the beaver family can work, rest and play (directed by little hands).
It is completely made of wool. The base is a piece (roughly 12 x 14") of felted, upcycled handknit sweater which is finished off with handstitched 100% wool felt on the bottom. The upper surface and all of the accessories are made with wool roving needlefelted into form.
This soft, natural and durable play space features a lodge, pond, stream (to dam in order to make the pond, perhaps?), 3 beavers, 4 loose logs and one branch. The mat itself has detailed rocks, flowers, cat-tails and even a fairy ring of red capped mushrooms in the meadow.
Add your own turtles, pebbles, fish, boat... whatever your child dreams up!~

This is a one of a kind piece.
It is made to be played with but is not suggested for children under 3, due to the size of the loose pieces and the potential choking hazard of loose fibers.
