I just can't say enough about this gorgeous dress! It is truly red carpet worthy! It is from the 50's and made of iridescent peach silk taffeta. Features include: attached self shawl, pleated bust, princess seams, extra full floor length skirt with a sheer chiffon underskirt and a heavy cotton liner under that that was probably added later and easy to remove if desired, boned and lined bodice, metal zipper in back. The beading is so intricate and consists of large and small rhinestones, seed beads, clear sequins and little chenille balls. Label: Only label left is a size label that says lot 16.
SIZE: Bust is 34 inches, waist is 27 inches with full hips. Length is 55 inches long not counting the shawl.
CONDITION: Very good, beading looks to be 100% intact! There are some bluish marks and water stains along the hem. There is so much fabric that they get lost in the folds but may come out if cleaned. There is also a 1 1/2 inch separation in the seam along side of the zipper. I also found some very small holes in the chiffon underskirt.
