I've topped this bottle with a pink moon shell. I've added sand from our NC beaches on the inside of the bottle give it more stability. The bottle is trimmed with silver metalic paint and edged with hand-dyed jute in cream.
This bottle looks beautiful with a number of other bottles I have created. Place it on a beautiful tray as displayed or just place it on your bookcase or shelf.
Bottle History:
Brown's Essence of Jamaica Ginger was introduced in 1822 by Philadelphia apothecary Frederick Brown. In 1854, they were packaged in oval aqua bottles embossed Brown's Essence of Jamaica Ginger. In 1882, Frederick Brown, Jr. announced that he was now packaging the product in flask-shaped bottles with steel-engraved labels that were trademarked. Brown's Essence of Ginger was still being manufactured by F. Brown and Company of Philadelphia in 1928.
