Wow have I been spoiled by spinning and knitting with angora! You'll love the softness and ease of spinning in this wonderful, excellent quality fiber. I love plucked angora best, this fiber is harvested during the season when the bun sheds her coat and is basically collected when the furry little cuties are groomed. As opposed to clipped angora, which has been sheered much like sheep, and has the blunt cut ends. Both are wonderful for spinning and blending with other fibers, but I prefer plucked. Angora is perfect blended with other fibers, it's so toasty warm, a little goes a long way. If you'll notice, most blends are 20% angora, 80% other fiber, like wool (for elasticity and strength) or (my favorite) alpaca. If you choose to spin it alone, it's wonderful plied with another fiber like a finely spun mohair. My personal favorite use for angora is to blend it with other fibers in heavenly luxurious art fiber mixes. The halo with angora is so beautiful and soft,it's great for scarfs and hats and of course baby booties, anything worn close to the skin.
