From Catseye Vintage is this fabulous chocolate brown rayon moss crepe cocktail dress with elaborately studded sleeve cuffs with the face of a Cat!
By designer Sobie & Davis Originals. Circa late 1930s World War II era.

Gorgeous chocolate brown rayon moss crepe fabric - the padded shoulders are accented with four rows of smocking creating a softly draped look to the bodice as pictured. The back of the bodice buttons up with nine loop and self-fabric covered 1/2" diameter buttons as pictured.
The gauntlet style sleeves are gorgeous - lightly gathered at the top and fuller at the bottom with square points as pictured. The 6" wide double layered cuffs come to a center front point and are accented with amazing round and oblong lightweight brass studs with prong set emerald green faceted "eyes" forming the face of a cat as pictured. The cuffs close with two hidden snaps.
Nipped waist and fitted hips with beautifully ruched front panels ~ flaring skirt with a 53" bottom sweep as pictured.
The dress is unlined. Zips up the left side seam with a concealed well working 11" metal zipper.
Designer label ~ "Sobie & Davis Original" and Kistler Collister Albuquerque".
CONDITION:
Vintage Excellent ~ No odors, discoloration, fading, rips, snags, or tears. All studs are complete and bright and shiny with no issues. The areas that appear lighter are the metallic gold body of my mannequin showing through the fabric.
One of the buttons at the neckline is missing as there are nine buttons and loops for ten - not noticeable at all.
I have not had this piece cleaned.
There are no size tags - I'd say this would best fit a modern extra extra small (XXS) to extra small (XS) based on the measurements below.
