Her primitive but friendly Waldorf style facial features are open to interpretation, inviting imaginative play. She will make a trusted companion and a loyal friend. I have resisted the temptation to give her a name, so that your child (or the lucky gift recipient) is the first to have that pleasure.
This doll is 10" tall and is made of pale cream cotton flannel and filled with springy fiberfill. Her green eyes, toasty pink lips, freckles, and nose are embroidered free hand, her cheeks blushed with permanent fabric paint. Her spirited frizzy red hair is painstakingly rooted and tied, one strand at a time, so that it won't pull out. It is styled with light layering in back. The doll comes in a pair of white undies and a beautiful cotton dress with ribbon ties at the back closure. The dress has a print of concentric circles of white dots on a dark charcoal background, which I accented with hand embroidered circles of many bright colors.
The clothes do come off, but they fit snugly, so younger children will likely need help getting them off and on (hint: it's easier to pull everything on feet first). Some children love to create outfits and costumes for their dolls (my daughter did!), while others prefer to get straight to playing.
