Thomas Stearns Eliot, born 1888 – died 1965, was an American-born English poet, playwright, and literary critic. The poem that gave him fame was entitled, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock. He followed this with some of the best-known poems in the English language, including Gerontion, The Waste Land , The Hollow Men , Ash Wednesday , and Four Quartets. He is also known for his seven plays, particularly Murder in the Cathedral. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1948.
I created this little Eliot wearing black and white pinstripe pants, black wool jacket, and white shirt with black tie. His hair is parted and slicked down, and he has tiny little ears that stick out just a bit! Eliot also has a tiny "replica" of his book of poems for the added final touch.
My hand designed and painted little character is only 4 1/2 inches tall, (11.4 cm). He's a must have for any literary fan!
