The ring was hand made by me, glass artisan Mary Sudak, in my studio in California. I used a process where I used powdered glass called frit in a mold and place it in a kiln. I use powdered gold with a clear glass rod and a torch and angle the torch such that the glass and gold (which becomes a gas) essentially are sprayed onto the glass by the flames thus resulting in the iridescent effect on the glass. The glass is annealed for strength and durability.
