I don't know why I like cornflowers and poppies so much, but I do - pairing them here is a little like eating both french fries and cupcakes at the same meal. Poppies are extremely delicate and hard to paint because they wilt within a few hours and the petals fall off. Maybe the suggestion of summer weather is what attracts me to cornflowers, since they do well in the hot, dry weather.
