The brush tailed rock wallaby (Petrogale penicillata) is a lively little creature that excels at leaping along cliffs. It can be found in various habitats, from deserts to rainforests, along the Great Dividing Range in Australia. However, there is a group of these guys flourishing in Hawaii due to a great escape by a pair that absconded in the 1920s. Much like it’s relative, the kangaroo, wallabies are marsupials and carry their young in a pouch (see absurdly cute picture).

1) Zippy is a deep burnt umber with copper sparkles throughout it. This catching color was created to mimic the deep brownish/red fur along the extremities of this wallaby. This eye shadow was named “Zippy” to reflect the swift movements of the creature that inspired it.
Ingredients: (NOT LIP SAFE) mica, calcium carbonate, carnauba wax, silicon dioxide, iron oxide, titanium dioxide, ultramarines
2) Sprightly is a gorgeous dark taupe overlain with a warm yellow shimmer. If you look close enough, very subtle flecks of purple catch the light. “Sprightly” was named after the energetic hopping done by the brush tailed rock wallaby. This eye shadow color was inspired by taupe portions of the wallaby’s fur.
Ingredients: mica, calcium carbonate, carnauba wax, silicon dioxide, iron oxide, titanium dioxide, tin oxide, FD&C No.5
3) Cliff Line is named after the habitat in which these marsupials are found. It is a dazzling fuscous (light brownish gray) color with beige and champagne sparkle that catch the light. This color was inspired by the lighter gray/brown portions of the wallaby’s fur.
Ingredients: mica, calcium carbonate, carnauba wax, silicon dioxide, iron oxide, titanium dioxide, boron nitride
**Please note: Colors vary due to differences in computer monitor settings. Also, I have a shoddy camera that cannot capture most of the shimmer in the eye shadows worth a hoot. I’ve found that the colors have more dimension and shimmer than depicted in the pictures.
Eye shadows are packaged in 5 gram jars with a sealed sifter. Roughly 2.8 grams of product is packed into each jar. The top of each jar is hand stamped with “Linnaeus Cosmetics.” On the bottom of the jar is a sticker that includes the eye shadow name, ingredients, and any other necessary information (i.e. if the product is safe for use on the lips). The lid of the jar is also sealed to prevent any product from spilling out during shipping.
Eye shadow jars per order are wrapped in a reusable canvas bag that has been hand stamped in sepia ink with an engraving of an animal. In addition, a paper tag with “tips and tricks” on how to use the eye shadow is included with each order.
Full size eye shadows are sent in a bubble mailer via USPS. Shipping time is noted under “announcements” on the shop home page, as well as when products are ordered. Should there be a delay in shipping that is different from the announcements, customers will be notified immediately.
