Labradorite is truly a fascinatingly beautiful mineral! The colors in these hexagon-shaped faceted labradorite earrings are cool! The play of light (depending on the angle) has an incredible flash of colors! Both earrings are the typical gray color of labradorite but in the light at the right angle - WOW! One of the earrings is more of a cool electric blue-green and the other is more of a glowing orange with striations (a series of linear marks) across both the front and the back. The labradorescence (play of colors), or schiller effect, is truly a one of a kind mineralogical experience and one must view it in person to truly appreciate its beauty. All findings are sterling silver, including the leverbacks.

This pair of earrings is heavy due to the size of these large stones.

The stones are about 7/8 of an inch wide and not quite 1/4 of an inch thick and they dangle almost an inch long with the wire.

So the entire length is almost 1 and 1/2 inches

Labradorite is a feldspar. It shows a labradorescence (play of colors) in lustrous metallic tints, often blue and green, although specimens with the complete spectrum (violet, red, orange, gold, and yellow too) are most appreciated. Both moonstone and labradorite are the most commonly-known minerals of the feldspar family.
