This printable book has an opening for each of the 26 letters. One side has a hand drawn illustration of things that start with the letter, and the other side has the a letter of the alphabet in large block print and three rows for kids to practice writing their letters. The 55 page coloring book is half page size, and can be easily printed on a home or office printer. It also includes a "This book belongs to" page for your child to practice writing her name, and a list on the back of the names of the things in all the pictures.
I chose pictures of animals and objects that a 3 year old would easily know to help her recognize the sounds and associate them with the letter. Also, I was careful to make the letters in fonts that actually look like the way you write letters, without all the extra flourishes, which can be confusing.
Also, included is a pdf with instructions for assembly, and full size coloring pages that make great class handouts.
This makes a nice and cost effective gift for preschoolers. Buy the pdf and print several copies for all the kids you know. All you need for assembly is a stapler.
