Absolutely charming vintage/antique cotton wrapper, circa 1920s. Constructed of soft, woven ecru cotton (almost has a feedsack feel) in a classic 1920s shape, with a dropped waist and short, wide sleeves; there is something of a Japanese influence here too. Attached belt threads through a loop and ties in back. Trimmed throughout with seafoam green cotton piping. Hand-embroidered flowers and geometric shapes adorn the shoulders and front hip, below the half-oval pocket. The geometric shapes look also to have been hand-colored? Dyed? There are soft, variegated shades of green here.
Though the robe is somewhat adjustable, it is probably best for a medium size. Lying flat, it measures approximately:
Underarm to underarm: 20"
Dropped waist: 18"
Length: 40-41"
Ties are each 35" long
Condition is very good for a garment of this age; it has been gently hand-washed in cold water, and overall is quite clean and well cared-for. There is an area of rust-colored spots on one shoulder (pictured) that isn't terribly noticeable due to its proximity to the embroidery. Also some light, light wear to some of the embroidery and throughout, but otherwise excellent!
