This structured medium size Kamboja bag is made from a beautiful Indonesian Batik. UNESCO recognized Indonesian batik as part of their cultural heritage, and in Indonesia the most beautiful batik came from Java where I bought this fabric from.
The making process of this batik is quite painstaking. A first crafter will hand woven mixed cotton and silk thread a fabric to the size of a sarong, after that other crafter will hand stamp a pattern to the fabric with the hot wax. The last process is hand dye it with natural colour made from the root of a tree. Yes, this is an eco friendly material too.
The lining is an early 90's Czech fabric, the manufacture is closed. My friend's mum who was working there keep some of the fabric she made and later on she let me to have them after she found that I will make beautiful bags with them:), and the big cute button is made from hand cut coconut shell.
The measurement approximately:
12"(30cm) across the top
10"(25cm) tall.
3"(7.5cm) all around side
There are two pocket inside and it closure with a flap and magnetic snap.
The handle is 25"(63cm)long with 12"(30cm) drop.
The longer strap is removable, it can be use as a shoulder strap or crossbody, the length is 40"(101cm)long.
