She contains Rose pink Lampwork Glass beads, Freshwater Cultured Pearls in a pretty pale pink hue and pale green Jade carved roses. I always love the way that mint green and pale pink compliment one another. In these lampwork beads, the colors are reminiscent of the brightly colored cut rock candy that my Grandparents used to serve at Christmas time!
This little garden bracelet measures approximately 8 inches, but is able to be worn by someone who normally wears a 7 ½ inch bracelet, due to the Sterling Silver decorative Toggle Clasp.
Lampworking (or what we now call flameworking or torchworking) was originally practiced as an art form in ancient Syria, later became popular in Italy and in France was widely used to make elaborate paperweights. This glasswork technique uses a gas fueled torch to melt rods and tubes of various types and colors of glass. The glass is then manipulated using only tools, gravity and/or their mouth to blow directly into glass tubes. Glassblowing uses a blowpipe to inflate a glass gather (or blob of glass), never touching their mouth directly to the glass.
