Fluorite is one of my favourite semi precious stones. For this necklace I filled three strands of wire with alternating Fluorite chips, Indian silver snails and magenta coco heishi beads. The three strands were then twisted together and brought into a magenta ring at each end. The remainder of the necklace is chunky pewter coloured chain and closed with silver plated lobster clasp and tag.
The necklace measures 48 cms. (19 inches) end to end.
Wearing fluorite is thought to bring emotional stability by lifting depressing and despair and dispelling anger. It is reputed to be an aid to good health and physical perfection.
Fluorite is said to glow and change colour when exposed to ultraviolet light.
