This is a beautiful unique shaped handmade organic English Walnut cutting/serving board with the most amazing grain patterns and color. Inspired by the Architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, and Mediterranean design and lifestyle. I believe these boards bring people together with the balance and essence of nature and the integrity of quality craftsmanship.
This truly is a one of a kind, no other cutting/serving board will share the same grain, shape, or rich color and depth. The wood for this board came from a tree in western Maryland where English Walnut is rare. The tree was damaged in a storm by lightning, and the salvageable material was saved and cared for. I believe that a second life has been given to the tree by creating a beautiful, and functional object that will be the center of conversation for years to come.
-The natural edge of the tree is left intact on two sides which woodworkers and sawyers often refer to as a flitch edge. The two edges are stripped of bark, and sanded smooth.
-The wood has been air and kiln dried to eliminate warping, and moisture.
-100% food safe! The board is sanded smooth and a hand applied coat of mineral oil is applied which is food and allergy safe.
-This is one solid piece of wood, no glue! which means it will never delaminate and fall apart.
-Use both sides. For everyday use most people cut on the backside, and use the front to serve on.
-Hand signed by me, the craftsman via wood burning pen.
-Hang it while its not in use for decor by a strong hemp string attached to a small hole placed in the top.
