* I have seen references to advertisments of Forstner snake bracelets from 1947, but have only actually seen the print copies with supple snake chains from this year. I believe the coil bracelets predate the snake chain bracelets. Forstner was established in 1920, and during the 20s, snake coil bracelets like these were a favorite among flappers (see the postcard image of a flapper wearing such a piece).
I have a matching pair of these in my own personal collection - I wear a single coil on one wrist, and a double on the other. They are among my very favorite pieces. I can highly recommend this exquisite piece.
