Some days, the air around our major cities is so polluted the government calls out a ‘smog alert’. In an attempt to control the particulate matter pollution, we can’t drive any faster than 90km/hr on the highways. And although a lot of our cars are considered ‘clean’(?!), we still pollute as if there is no tomorrow.

Two symmetrical blue crazy lace agate focal beads are protected by a sterling silver rib cage - just as in real life. The ribcage is completely made from wire that was shaped, soldered, hammered and coiled with very thin wire. The cage is adorned with tiny 2mm beads. Cornflower blue quartz briolettes and natural blue chalcedony hand facetted rondelles are used for the dangles.

All metal used is sterling silver that has been oxidised and polished to bring out the contrast with the pale blue stones and to add definition.

Size of the cornflower quartz pears: 10/11mm x 8mm.

The accent beads are natural blue chalcedony and blue crazy lace agate.

Size of the pendant: 85mmx 50mm (3 3/8” x 2”).

Length of the necklace: 44cm + 5cm extender chain - (17 ¼” + 2” extender chain).
