It lasts longer than normal soap. And unlike a soft washcloth this is textured enough that you can feel it's exfoliating, but not so rough that it feels unpleasant.
There's no need for a separate washcloth because this soap has a wool one tightly encasing it.
Plus there's the added bonus that once all the soap is used up you can reuse the hollow wool form as a cleaning pad for your sink or tub.
I've made this felted soap by wrapping a simple bar of soap (no perfume, no color) inside lovely merino wool (one of the softest sheep around) using a technique called wet felting where I shrink the wool with hot water.
The main color is a nice light blueish green with a band of aqua wool all the way around it.
Wool has natural anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, however you need to store this as you would normal "naked" soap, in a slotted soap dish so that it dries between uses.
And makes a thoughtful gift for men or women (especially for camping enthusiasts or those with small showers!).
The soap measures about 3 x 2 inches (9 x 5 cm)
