"I paint self portraits because I am the person I know best." - Frida Kahlo
What strikes me the most about Frida Kahlo is that she never intended to be a painter/artist. Her life was going in the direction of Frida entering medical school at 15 years of age. Due to an accident, Frida was forced to be in bed and suffered through 30 surgeries. It was at this time when she was recovering that she began to draw as a way to occupy her time.
These earrings feature a lovely portrait of Frida with flowers in her hair. I added them to ornate golden frames that measure a bit over an inch. They are suspended from peach pealry postbacks that have clutches to keep them on. The earrings measure an inch and 1/2 and are for pierced ears.
