OOAK Lagoon Sculptural Crochet

This amazing piece developed from my obsession with barnacle/fungus/seed pod/organic shapes. I used a secondhand wood plaque as a base, coating it with gesso and two layers of this aqua-colored paint. Then I crocheted each individual piece with a tiny crochet hook and cotton thread. Each piece was arranged and glued onto the base. I love the monochromatic effect and the unexpected juxtaposition of forms.

This piece is signed and ready to hang.

Measures approximately 8.5 inches in diameter (21.5 cm).

Because the wood plaque is second hand (best to reuse!) there a few nicks and scratches on its surface. The paint does a good job at hiding imperfections, but they do exist.
