lovely Amethyst and Pearl Earrings feature lilac amethyst gemstone teardrops and white freshwater pearls in these graceful earrings...The gemstones are faceted and set into gold vermeil (over sterling silver). Tiny freshwater rice pearls dangle beneath them. They are hung from goldfilled french hooks with a bead and coil detail.
The color of the amethysts is a light lavender-lilac purple with a hint of pink, and they are gorgeous and eye clean. The size is 9mm long x 6mm across x 4mm deep (3/8 in. long), definitely large enough to be noticed! The silvery white pearls have lots of iridescent shine and are a perfect accent to the amethysts. The shape of my design is reminiscent of the art nouveau period, and jewelry from the early 20th century often featured lavender amethysts with tiny pearl dangles. The pearls are 5mm x 3mm and are mounted on goldfilled headpins that I have wire-wrapped to the amethyst jewels above.
The length of these romantic and feminine earrings is a bit over 1-1/2 inch (1-9/16 in.) or 3.9cm
