Antique boards create a rough rustic surface for this original painting. Painted in acrylics, I've allowed the grain of the wood to show through and become an important part of the composition. The boards, salvaged from the renovation of an 1800's inn in Vermont, have lots of character. The finished work measures roughly 16"square and the antique boards are 1/2"thick. The back of the work is fastened together for stability and given a thick coat of clear acrylic. The finished work needs no framing. Please see extra photos. The crossboards lift the painting 1 1/4" away from the wall for a slight 3D effect. The image is handpainted and the clovers are printed from handcut blocks. The painting is given two coats of clear acrylic. It's signed, W.Russell and ready to hang. The narrow green border in the product photo is used to display the work and is not part of the original.
