The back of the chair is a beautiful solid pink brushed velvet from Italy. The cushion is reversible with a complimenting but different design on the opposite side.
The frame of the chair is in original condition, I haven't painted it or changed it in any way. Since it is vintage it does have a worn patina consistent with a piece of furniture that has been previously loved.
