This is a portrait of one of my favorite subjects; Mr Peanut. My fascination with him began on my first visit to Atlantic City in the 1960’s as a child and I have loved him ever since. I admit that at first I was frightened of him but over the years he has become a nostalgic representative of my golden childhood years. I have tried to portray him as the costumed figure I first encountered keeping in mind that I didn’t realize at the time it was a human in a costume but truly believed him to be a giant peanut-man. You can read more on this subject and follow the progress of the second in this series on my blog: curiousportraits.wordpress.com.
