One-of-a-kind functional art accessory. Use it to capture clutter on your desk, entry table, shelf, or dresser, or simply to display as a nature-themed arty curiosity.
4-inch (10 cm) diameter
This sturdy light-weight bowl is made from recycled pages of a literary journal that was printed on archival paper. After forming it with many layers to make a thick and sturdy bowl, I coated it with acrylic paint mixed with a thickener/sealant and then scraped to give it a mottled and layered texture.
I added a hand-cut spiral on the bottom inside, and fanciful trees and branches on the sides, both inside and out. It has a final coat of a clear acrylic sealant. The paper, paste, paint and sealant are all acid-free archival materials.
Words and images peak through the paint, including on the decoration.
It may be hand washed with mild soap. It is not fragile.
Made in a smoke-free, fragrance-free house. I do have pets (cats and a dog), but the bowl is kept well away from them.
