This is a life-size plaster human skull encrusted in glass mosaic tiles. It measures approximately 6" tall, 5" wide and 7" deep. I've utilized a mix of stained glass tiles with iridized glass and tumbled glass accents. The iridized glass has a rainbow-like reflective sheen and the tumbled glass has a satin "sea glass" finish. The teeth are copper acrylic paint.
I cut each tile myself, one at a time. This technique, though time consuming, allows me to control the size and quantity of my tiles, and allows me a broader range of colors and shapes than purchasing manufactured tile.
