Flour sack towels were once a staple item in American homes. They where used as: kitchen towels, cleaning and polishing cloths, diapers and underclothing. Also they were sewn together to make sheets and pillows. My mother tells me often how my grandmother would use the flour sack material to sew their clothing during the depression. Today flour sack towels are used for dehydrating, straining cloths for sauces and stocks, poaching, cheese making, pastry, proofing bread and microwave cooking and they will keep salads fresh for hours. Since flour sack towels are super soft, completely lint-free, absorb like a paper towel and dry faster then normal kitchen towels, they add an unsurpassed sparkle to dishes, glassware and windows. And great for dusting also.
My towels are pre-washed, pre-shrunk and resistant to unraveling.
So get back to the basics and stop using paper towels and go green with flour sack towels. There uses are unlimited.
My towels are the same truly old-fashioned, all-cotton weave towels that Grandma knew was the best.
