The Crossing Place series is an ongoing series exploring transition… the place in between one place and another, one state of being or awareness and another...between awake and dreaming, life and death, death and rebirth, love and fear... Crossroads, cruciforms, portals, doorways, thresholds and windows can all symbolize crossing places; axis’ where the material and spiritual planes cross… the veil thins… and stepping through becomes possible…
Size/ Support: 24x24x1 inches on cradled hardboard [wood mounted on frame]. Sides painted black. Ready to hang.
Media: Mixed Media [acrylic, ink, drawing media]
Dominant Colours: magenta, yellow, turquoise, ultramarine blue, white.
NOTE: Colour Accuracy can VARY quite widely depending upon monitor settings. Photos are taken in natural light with no flash.
The best advice I've come across about creating is "To create what you want to look at..." I love to look at work that is ambiguous and suggestive; work that leaves room for the imagination of the viewer. Thus, I aspire to create a spirited body of work I define as "otherly". My art is ever evolving based upon recent experiments, research, discoveries and inspirations.
